No Theft. --Hendrick Thon was before the Mayor last Saturday to answer for having in his possession a horse which was stolen from Betsy Weaver, a free negress, some months since. Thon showed that the horse went to a neighbors farm last summer and was driven off. The animal then came to his place, was taken up, put to work, and had been held ever since. He had never advertised the horse as an estray, and is not, therefore, entitled to pay for the keeping.
