Correspondence of the Richmond Dispatchfrom Prince Edward. Prince Edward C. H., Va., May 29. It is indeed gratifying to the independence-loving people generally to see how the various counties are responding to the call of the Governor, and I may add, that good old Prince Edward has done nobly, having sent four companies in the field, and two others are being drilled and nearly completed--one a Cavalry, commanded by J. A. Thornton, an efficient and able officer. Our county is full of the military spirit, and every one will resist to the death the hirelings of the North. It seems that our ladies would prefer death to being governed by the Yankees. They think the Yankees the most degraded set of human beings on earth, and I am much of their opinion. The principle of a Yankee either lies beneath his feet or above his head — It is hard to ascertain; but, suffice it to say that they will employ any means that brute force or falsehood could accomplish to sacrifice an enemy.
