Killing a tiger. --A correspondent of the Charleston Mercury gives the following narrative of a remarkable occurrence in Prince Williams' Parish, S. C.: On Tuesday morning, the 13th inst., by the dawn of day, Henry, a servant of Mr. Jesse M. Mixson, (who is now in the service at Braddock's Point,) and Toney, a lad of 10 or 12 years of age, started out "coon-hunting," and in going to the field they passed a small pond about 150 yards from the negro quarters. Their dog, Buck, passed through the pond, when they saw some huge animal run out, and their faithful dog in full cry pursuing.--They supposed it a deer, but in a few minutes they heard Buck "baying" at the top of his voice very faithfully. They approached the tree, and saw on a pine distinctly a hugs animal, are crawling and wagging its long tail.--Henry sent home immediately for the gun, and when it came made a capital shot, dig at the head, and bringing a tiger to the ground.
