School house enlarged and hire another teacher to instruct half the scholars. A petition signed by Nathan Adams and fourteen others was presented, the selectmen asking for another town meeting on the subject, and May 1, 1805, it was voted to build two school houses, one this season, the other to be in readiness for building next Spring. Voted to procure a building lot as near Gravelly bridge as possible or convenient and build a school house of wood this season. Capt. Nathan Adams, Benj. Tufts, and Converse Francis were the committee for the purpose. It was further voted at this same meeting to choose a committee to look out a piece of land at the west end of the town, procure materials and report their doings at the March meeting. Then they proceeded to vote That the School committee under the direction of the Selectmen shall hire a master and divide the scholars.
