A number of bills received from that committee were acted upon and passed. The committee on Flag and Seal reported the following bill, which, after some discussion, was agreed to: The Congress of the Confederate States of America de chact that the goal of the Confederate States shall consist of an equestrian portrait of Washington, (after the statue which surmounts his monument in the Capitol square at Richmond,) surrounded with a wreath composed of the principal agricultural products of the South, (cotton, tobacco, sugar cane, corn, wheat, and rice,) having around its margin the words, "Seal of the Confederate States of America, 22d Feb. 1863, together with the motto: "See Duke Vincemus." [With God for our leader, we will conquer] The House then went into secret session, and took up the Tax bill for consideration.
