tway (now Gore Street), sold about 1650 by his heirs to Edward Garfield; it is described in the Inventory of the latter, in 1672, as on the Little Plain, near Sudbury Road, and was apprized at £ 60. In later times the elegant mansion of Governor Christopher Gore was erected upon it, which, with its extensive grounds, shaded by fine old trees, and its spacious park, has been preserved, and remains to-day as a monument of the wealth and taste of its builder.
