Price of Corn.--The high price of $10 per barrel has been paid for corn in the upper part of Spotsylvania by a Government agent, but it was only because of a pressing necessity at the time, when such a price ought not to have been demanded. $7 per barrel is about the ruling rate for corn in the section of the country we have named. It does not command this price in Fredericksburg, we believe. Affairs in King George.--Capt. John Taylor, of the 9th Virginia Cavalry, was captured by some Yankees who landed from a gunboat near his residence, on Friday last, and carried to Washington. Capt. T. was at home, on the banks of the Potomac, being an invalid. Robert Wallace was also captured, but subsequently released. On Friday night an incendiary fired the barn of Mr. Robinson Taylor, consuming all his farming implements, his carriage house and carriage; subsequently six stacks of wheat, tree-quarters of a mile from the barn, were burnt.
