set forth, that the Times was established about the year 1788 by John Walter, the grandfather of the present proprietor and manager. That ina minor publication grafted in it and called the Evening Mail to John Walter, the father of the present proprietor, and that he, by his will, made in 1810, continued his son, John Walter, sole manager, in trust for his own benefit and that of the rest of the large family of which h the energy and ability, and the undoubted acumen of this second John Walter, that the Timesowned its tremendous rise, progress and success. divided into sixteen shares, which were chiefly distributed among Mr. Walter's daughters, with reversion to the son, who was left as manager. At the same time, by Mr. Walter the elder's will, a wish was expressed that the manager should be paid by the rest of the persons interested n a petition new pending in chancery for an injunction to prevent Mr. Walter, the present manager and proprietor, stopping and putting an end
