s. An exhibit of the Book Agent of the M. E. Church South, was laid before the Conference, read, and , on motion, referred to the Committee on Publishing Interests. It was resolved to meet daily at 9 o'clock and adjourn at 1 o'clock P. M. On motion, it was resolved to proceed to the examination of ministerial character, and a large number of the clerical gentlemen present passed in examination of character. It was ordered that Geo. W. S. Harper. Zachariah E. Harrison, Henry D. Ward, B. F. Woodward, J. C. Garlick, and John B. Laurens, be placed on the superannuated list. James D. Lumsden was appointed in place of Wm. M. Ward, E. A. Gibbs in place of P. A. Peterson, and D. J. C. Slaughter in place of B. H. Johnson as members of the Joint Board of Finance. Thos. S. Campbell was appointed a member of the Committee of Examination No. 3, in place of Wm. H. Wheelwright, who is absent. On motion, the Conference adjourned. This morning (Thursday) the Con
