compromise before ensuing extreme measures. There will be a large number of candidate to the Convention expressing every shade of sentiment. A large meeting of the citizens of East Rockingham was held at McGaheysville on Saturday last E. T. H. Warren, Esq, addressed the meeting after which $100 was subscribed, for the purpose of uniforming a volunteer regiment in this county. We have never beheld such a unanimity upon any question as the people of East Rockingham present upon the Secession question. They are all secessionists. A meeting was hell at the court-house to-day for the purpose of raising funds for the regiment. The meeting was addressed by Messr. E. A. Shands, E. T. H. Warren, and Dr. J. Q. Winfield. The latter gentleman made a strong secession speech which caused considerable excitement among the yeomanry. We will not attempt a description of the since that followed Dr. W.'s speech, but will say that the anti-submisionist triumphed.--About $1.20 was subsc
