Jury discharged. --The jury sworn in the case of Harvey Wash, of Hanover, on trial before Judge Lyons, of the Hustings Court, for counterfeiting and passing counterfeit gold coin, were discharged on Wednesday night being unable to agree--nine being for acquitted and three for conviction. The prisoner was remanded to jail. A citizen of Richmond, well known in this community, informed us on yesterday that he had been acquainted with Mr. W. H. Wash (the prisoner) for the past twenty five years; that he had traded with him while the mercantile business about ten years; that he had done a large amount of business for him as an officer, both in the county of Louisiana Hanover, and also collected considerable sums of money for him, for which he paid him a commission and in all his transactions with said Wash he has acted as a high-minded gentleman collected promptly, and paid punctually. He is also acquainted with his whole family, and that all of them are gentlemen in high standing.
