From Northwestern Virginia--Banks's expedition. Fredericksburg, Jan. 19.
--The Wheeling Intelligencer of the 5th, reports a fight on Saturday between Gen Janklas and Col. Imboden's forces, and the Federal under Col. Washington lasting Saturday and Sunday, and claims that the "rebels had been driven four miles. "
Gen. Milroy is at Winchester.
The New York Herald less by an arrival from New Orleans that Gen. Saints had established his headquarters at Baton Rouge, and had ten thousand men in camp.
More vessels of his expedition had arrived.

[Southern Association dispatches.]later from the North. Petersburg. Jan. 10.
--The New York Tribune, of the 8th instant, has the following dispatch from Washington, dated the 7th: "C. L. Vallaudigham, of Ohio, made a speech in the House to-day favoring foreign mediation in American affairs."
The Paris correspondent of the Tribune, under date of the 28th ult., says it is reported that Brouyn de L'Huys has resigned, and says the Cabinet of the French Emperor has, for the present, abandoned the designs of mediation in American affairs.
Advices from New Orleans, of the 28th ult., state that Banks has made Baton Rouge his headquarters.
