Daring robbery. --A merchant of this city was relieved on Wednesday night, about 8 o'clock, in this city, of a considerable sum of money, in the following manner: The party alluded to, Mr. Geo. A. Weed, living on North Main street, a few doors above the City Hotel, was returning from the Post-Office, when he was accosted by three well dressed individuals, who he found sitting on his front steps. On his approaching the door, they politely accosted him expressing a whish to purchase variousht was extinguished in the melee, and as the object of the robbers seemed to be only money, they contented themselves with rummaging his pockets. In an interior vest pocket they found $500 in Confederate States money, with which they departed. Mr. Weed was suffering yesterday very much from the attack made on him, and was hardly able to leave his bed. The above robbery was committed on what its name imports it to be, the main street of the city, and at an early hour of the night. We learn tha
