Circuit Court of Richmond. --Judge Meredith held his court yesterday and disposed of several criminal cases. John Wetzel, John Pomers and James Smith, penitentiary convicts, were tried for conspiring to escape from the penitentiary, and being convicted, were sentenced to 18 months additional confinement each. John P. Gunnel's, a convict, was sentenced to one year additional confinement for attempting to escape; and James Kelly, for resisting one of the officers at the penitentiary, was sentenced to five years additional confinement. In each of the above cases, one-twelfth of the additional period is to be in solitary confinement. This concluding the criminal docket, the civil docket will be called to-day.
