tition of the rumor of Sunday last. Important from Georgia--Sherman's change of position — Wheeler's operations in the rear. The following official dispatch was received yesterday at the Warll the crossings on the Chattahoochee, but not with a continued line. "Dispatches from General Wheeler, of the 19th, report the capture of Dalton, with large quantities of stores, about two hundnd is in good condition. J. B. Hood, General." It thus appears that the reports of Wheeler's operations in the enemy's rear have not been exaggerated. Dalton is one hundred miles from Aly interfere with his operations before Atlanta. There are unconfirmed rumors of an advance of Wheeler into East Tennessee, but we think it more likely that he remains for the present between Sherman to operate upon both routes at the same time. Eleven days have elapsed since the date of General Wheeler's dispatch, and it is fair to presume that he has not been idle during that period. Ea
