The Richmond Examiner has found a black Union man in that city, of which the editor speaks as follows: Allen, slave of Richard Whitfield, was yesterday arrested by officer Chalkley, of the city police, on the charge of having proclaimed that Jeff. Davis was a rebel, and that he (Allen) acknowledged no man as his master.
This fellow should be whipped every day until he confesses what white man put these notions in his head.

--Allen, slave of Richard Whitfield, was brought before the Mayor yesterday for declaring that Jeff. Davis was a rebel, and that no white man should be his master.
The case was laid over until the 8th inst. The contumacious colored brother will suffer on his back for the bad conduct of his tongue.
Mayor's Court.
--Arthur F. Hopkins was carried before the Mayor yesterday for threatening to massacre Chas. C. Ellett, "without any provocation," and committed on failing to give security to keep the peace — Woodson Dunn, arraigned for stealing one bag of meal and a cap from the market cart of Chas. Bowers, was sent to jail.--Allen, slave of Richard Whitfield, was ordered 39 lashes for using seditious language, and to be detained until further orders.--Jim, slave of Isham Chewning, was sent on to the Hustings Court for final trial for the murder, on the 10th instant, at the Monticello House, on Main street, of Andrew, slave of Mrs Sally Gray, of Port Royal, Caroline county, Va. The murder, so far as the evidence showed, was a deliberate and unprovoked one.
