ct to incorporate the Catharine Furnace Company, in the county of Spotsylvania, communicated yesterday from the House, was taken up, read twice, and, on motion of Mr. Quesensberry, the rule requiring the commitment of the bill was suspended. The bill was then read a third time and passed. A communication from the House of Delegates by their Clerk was read, signifying their concurrence with the amendments of the Senate to the act respecting the issue of small notes. On motion of Mr. Whittle, it was resolved that the Committee of General Laws inquire into the expediency of repealing sections 23 and 24 of the Code of Virginia, and of so amending the 26th section as to require clerks of courts to transmit to the Auditor of Public Accounts, in addition to the register of marriages therein named, only a copy of the books required to be made out by Commissioners of the Revenue for the registration of the births and deaths.
