Imprisonment and murder of Confederates. --The Knoxville (Tenn.) Chronicle contains a letter from Kentucky, which gives the following cases of barbarity on the part of the Yankees: Mrs. Dr. Cheatham, of Nashville, has been imprisoned at Alton, Ill., for during the war, for receiving a letter from her sister, Mrs. John H. Morgan. Ed. Wilder is to be shot for selling drugs to the Confederates. Poor Frank Cowan was shot on the 23d June by the order of Burnside. Burnside's death order includes all those who receive letter from beyond the lines, as well as those who write them.
