Williams, George Washington
Author; born a mulatto in Bedford Springs, Pa., Oct. 16, 1849; was a lieutenant-colonel in the Republican army of Mexico in 1865-67; engaged in journalism in 1875; graduated at the Cincinnati Law College in 1877; member of the Ohio legislature in 1878-81; and was minister to Haiti in 1885-86.
His publications include History of the negro race in America from 1619-1880; History of the negro troops in the War of the rebellion; and History of the reconstruction of the insurgent States (2 volumes).
