Hustings Court. --The monthly term of the Hustings Court commenced yesterday — Recorder and Aldermen Sanxay, Bray, Lipscomb, Binford, Timberlake, Regnault, and Smith, presiding. Richard, a slave, the property of G. Ferguson, charged with cutting another slave named Martha, was arraigned, and Geo. D. Wotton, Esq., assigned as counsel. The prisoner was convicted and sentenced to receive 39 lashes. J. B. Winston and J. B. Gentry, indicted for issuing small notes, appeared and pleaded guilty, and the Court imposed a fine of ten dollars and costs in each case. William, a slave, the property of Robt. P. Richardson, and William (2d) the property of Dolly Smith, charged with stealing goods from the store of Richardson & Co., and Messrs. Barwell and Gilmer assigned as their counsel respectively. William (2d) was convicted and sentenced to receive 39 lashes; and a nolle proseque was entered as to the other negro. William, slave of Robt. P. Richardson, was then tried

ld 5 feet 9 or 10 inches in height, of good size, black, with thick lips and has a crooked leg — the knee joint bent inwards. He was hired for several years past by Mr. R. C. Lips combe, as an ostler in his livery stable, in Richmond, where he is most probably lacking. He was recently engaged in working on the fortifications near West Point on the York River Railroad, and had the skin mashed off of one or two of his fingers, which were tied up when he left. He may be endeavoring to make his way to enemy's lines, in the vicinity of West Point, or have gone to the army near Fredericksburg, with a view of getting employment as a groom or cook.--He was dressed in ordinary working clothes, and wore a cap. If apprehended beyond the limits of the city of Richmond or county of Henrico, and confined so that I can get him, a reward of $50 will be paid; if taken within the above limits and delivered to me, at the office of the R. F. & P R R Co. $25 will be paid. J. B. Winston. my 15--ts.

The rest of the session was taken up in the transaction of business in secret session. House of Delegates. The House met at noon; Speaker Hugh W. Sheffey in the chair. Mr. Bouldin, from the Finance Committee, introduced a bill for the relief of L. Macon, sheriff of Albemarle. Mr. Winston called up the bill amending the law in respect to fiduciaries, which was amended on his motion and ordered to its engrossment. Mr. Magruder called up the bill to provide relief for the indigent families of soldiers and equalizing the burden of their relief among the various counties.
