ary service of the Confederate States, herewith produces in Court the bodies of Mary Ann Piggott. Nathaniel D. Piggott, Mary Ellen Piggott, Eugenie Piggott, and Isabella Piggott, and for return to the writ of habeas corpus awarded by the Hon. Wm. H. Lyons, Judge of the Hustings Court of Richmond, to the parties a foresaid saith: That the five prisoners aforesaid are detained in custody by Gen. G. W. Smith, the Military Commandant of this District, upon charges preferred against them by Gen. H. A. Wise, of having acted as spies for the enemy within the lines of the said Gen. Wise; and also, with having rendered treasonable aid and comfort to the enemy." No testimony was heard yesterday, and, by consent of all parties, the case was continued until the 14th instant. The parties were admitted to bail in the sum of $500 each, with Volaska Vaiden and L. H. Liggott sureties for their appearance. Occupancy of rebel property. --Orders have been issued directing the occupancy for Government purposes of property in Washington of persons known to be in the service of the Confederacy, including five houses belonging to Commodore Forrest, two to Dr. Cornelins Boyle, one to Dr. Garnett, son-in-law of Henry A. Wise; one to Wm. R. Smith, member of the rebel Congress; one to Mr. Phillipe, ex-Sixth Auditor of the Treasury; one to Captain Dunnington, ex-chief of the capital police, and several others.
