Prison items. --The following arrivals are reported at Castle Thunder since Saturday, viz: Jas. Broderick, deserter from Rix's artillery, stationed near Fredericksburg, caught by detective Thomas, between two beds, in a house on Cary street; J. W. Graham, company E, 25th Va. Battalion, for allowing prisoners to escape; twenty-one men, mostly hard cases, belonging to different regiments, hitherto confined at Gordonsville, were received from Major Boyle, the Provost Marshal there; D. J. Wyatt, Thomas Rowles, and James Duncan, of Rodgers's cavalry, desertion; Wilson Coots, 15th Va. Cavalry, who escaped from the railroad train while being conveyed to his company; Robert Burch, company G, 5th Va. Cavalry, and Mike Walsh, co. E, 9th La., desertion; eight men from Capt. Thornton's co., for punishment; A. Lipscomb, of the Fayette Artillery, for permitting prisoners to escape; Wm. L. Morris, of the Fayette Artillery, for desertion.
Unfaithful Stewart. --Last February Capt A J. Rodgers being on duty with his company in Charles City county, sent one of his men, D. J. Wyatt, into the city with a horse and wagon for stores. Wyatt came in, obtained the stores, and then getting drunk sold the horse and wagon and stores, and failed to report back to camp. Capt Rodgers came in to look after his interest, and succeeded in finding the horse and wagon — the one having been sold to a man named O'Brien, and the other to a Mrs. Holland, both living near the upper end of 17th street. The case was before the Mayor yesterday, when the facts having been heard, the case was adjourned till this morning, that O'Brien and Mrs. Holland might be brought into court.
Sent to Castle Thunder. --The following parties were committed to Castle Thunder yesterday: D. J. Wyatt, company E, 59th Virginia regiment, and Jas. Hall and Altred Baker, company E, 18th Virginia battalion of heavy artillery, charged with desertion and forging soldiers' discharges. R. M. Gentry, member of company B, 1st Virginia regiment, was imprisoned for holding communication with prisoners of war.
