Hustings Court, March. 11. --Present: Aldermen Sauxay, E. A. J. Clopton, James Bray, N. M. Lee, and N. C. Lipscombe. The City Sergeant was ordered to discharge from jail Thos. Ogle, committed by the Court, 13th January, for twelve months, for failing to give security to keep the peace. Harry, slave of Watt Tyler, was tried for stealing $200 in bank notes from Persons Walker, February 16th, and ordered thirty-nine lashes. Joseph Nicholas Baratta, minister of the Roman Catholic Church, was authorized to celebrate marriages and officiate as minister in accordance with the usage of that Christian society. Case against Perry Moses for letting his slave go at large, was dismissed. Rule against Jno. J. Walker, for the same cause. Rules were awarded against John Jaiser, Wm. A. Organization of the Hustings Court. --Messrs, James K. Caskie, Richard D. Sanxay, C. E. Anderson, W. W. Timberlake, N. M. Lee, Wm. Taylor, Geo. N. Gwathmey, John F. Regnault, John W. Beveridge, Abel F. Picot, N. C. Lipcombe, and E. A. J. Clepton, twelve of the Aldermen recently elected, appeared at the City Hall, on Saturday, for the purpose of organizing the Hustings Court. Mr. J. Maye was sworn in as Mayor, by Alderman Caskie. Alderman caskie was elected City Recorder, and R. D. Sanxay, Senior Alderman. The parties took the oath of fidelity to the Southern Confederacy.

These slaves were purchased by me from Mr. John Taliaferro, near Orange Va., where they were raised, and may be attempting to get back in that direction, or are trying make their escape to the lines of the Yankees some ether direction. I will give the above reward of $500 for both, or $253 for either of them, if confined in any jail in the State, so that I get them, a delivered in this city to Lee & Bowman, or is in P.
