Physicians. For many years the inhabitants of Medford employed the physicians of the neighboring towns; and there was small need of medicine where all had simple diet, fresh air, and moderate labor. As early as 1720, two doctors appear in the town records,--Dr. Oliver Noyce and Dr. Ebenezer Nutting. The first died in 1721; and the second is not found in the records but a year or two afterward
