ath. In 1724 the third John, as the head of the family, inherited the title. He was a distiller and was a pioneer in making Medford rum. His younger brother, Andrew, born in 1698, was the father of Benjamin Hall. Very early in life Andrew Hall developed a liking for land speculation. In 1721, when he was only twenty-three their produce down river by boats or lighters, and returning with goods from ships arriving in Boston from foreign ports. He died in 1750.
