All solvent Bank Notes of the State are now bankable. save those of the Banks of Wheeling and the Valley Bank; the branches of the latter Bank at Staunton and Christiansburg are, however, included in the bankable funds. The Money market is not laboring under so extreme a stringency as has been feet; but there is a general pause, and the general object seems merely to be to maintain credit and avoid increasing obligations. North Carolina Bank Notes are nominally quoted at 5 per cent, discount, with little or no sale. The Planters' and Miners' Bank at Murphy. N. G., is quoted at 20 per ct, discount. South Carolina Bank Notes are quoted at 10 per cent. discount; but there are hardly any afloat. New York Exchange is still 8 per cent. premium; Philadelphia and Baltimore 2 ½@3 percent. Gold 8@10 per cent. prem.
