This amount is diminished somewhat, but not materially, by the imports of treasure from Mexico during November and December--some $160,000 in all. So far as the demand for money is affected by business relations here, we have no doubt it has reached the climax of the season. January will swell the amount coming in from the country, and the obligations for the coming month will diminish the desire to remit eastward. This, however, has yet to manifest itself.
