Mr. Morton moved a suspension of the rules to allow him to make a motion to withdraw all but the three highest candidates.--Carried. Mr. Morton then made the motion indicated, but there being a tie between two of the candidates, it was amended on the suggestion of Mr. Cox, of Chesterfield, so as to drop all but four, and the motion, as amended, was adopted.
