--The birthday of the immortal founder of American liberty has been presented to us once again by father Time in his annual revolution.
Whatever may be the destiny of the proud fabric which George Washington helped to rear, his own name will live forever in the grateful recollections of all generations capable of appreciating true manhood, and the grandest efforts in behalf of human liberty recorded on the pages of history.
Virginians, native and adopted, will to-day, no matter what may be the state of the country, derive proud satisfaction in the thought that they live in the land that gave birth to the hero, the patriot and the sage.
The day will be appropriately observed by a nearly unanimous cessation of business pursuits, and the usual military parade by our citizen soldiery.
