Going at large. --The city ordinances, as well as the common law, positively forbid the practice so very prevalent of negroes going at large. Owners would do well to exercise their rights before some executor of the law makes a discovery which is sure to entail pecuniary loss. Yesterday, Daniel, slave of Gibson Via, was sent on to the March term of the Hustings Court, to be tried for going at large.
Refusal of the Senate to confirm the Nomi-nation of Judge Black. Washington, Feb. 21. --The Senate, in Executive session. to-day, refused to confirm the nomination of Judge Black as one of the Justices in the Supreme Court of the United States, in place of Judge P. V. Daniel, deceased.
