The spirit of Devils. The Westchester (Pa.) Democrat reminds the Pennsylvania volunteers that Baltimore "has always been celebrated for the beauty of its women; " that "the fair were ever the reward of the brave," and "that beauty and booty was the watchword at New Orleans." This is the kind of enemy we have to deal with. Never before has any nation been so lost to all shame as to avow such purposes.--It may be safely said that the annals of the civilized world may be searched in vain for the parallel of Northern brutality. Are they men or beasts?
