The Mayor had but few cases before him yesterday. Christopher Mitchell was arraigned for assaulting Joseph Pleasants and being too familiar with a female named Susan Mosley, a free negress from Powhatan county, who has been living in the city for a year past contrary to law, not having a certificate of her register. Mitchell was sent down for a further hearing. Mosley was ordered 20 lashes, and directed to migrate back to Powhatan.--George Cook, a free negro from Norfolk, arrested for re him yesterday.
