Murder. --Phineas T. Wood, of Goshen, N. Y., was murdered by a negro on Saturday last. He was shot down in the road, the provocation being that he had participated in a Union meeting a night or two before. The negro had been parading the street, gun in hand, swearing he meant to shoot a "d — d white Democrat." The murderer was arrested and placed in jail.
