Compliment to Gen. Lane. --A gold-headed cane has been purchased by the students of Shelby Medical College, for presentation to Gen. Joseph Lane, of Oregon, as an indication of their cordial approval of his late manly defence in the U. S. Senate of State-Rights. Upon the head of the cane is the following inscription: "To Gen. Joseph Lane, the vindicator of State-Rights. From the students of Shelby Medical College, Nashville, Tenn." Compliment to Gen.
