new ones. Gen. Patterson again. It seems that this General occupies no small share of attention at the Federal headquarters. The Washington correspondent of the Baltimore Sun writes: Gen. Patterson telegraphed here yesterday that he had driven Johnston's advance some seven miles, when it had been reinforced by Gen. Hill, and a general engagement seemed at hand. There is an intimation to-day, from a high source, that things are not satisfactory in that direction. When Alex. H.
