Escape from jail. --We learn from the Bowling Green (Ky.) Standard, that on Saturday night, the 27th ult., while Mr. Denton, jailor of the county, was attending to the wants of his prisoners, Martin, charged with murder, and Hicks, who had recently been confined for an outrage committed upon the person of Miss Marthenia Ford, made a rush at the jailor, and succeeded in throwing him down and effecting their escape. A detachment of police have been engaged in pursuit ever since, and on Wed, jailor of the county, was attending to the wants of his prisoners, Martin, charged with murder, and Hicks, who had recently been confined for an outrage committed upon the person of Miss Marthenia Ford, made a rush at the jailor, and succeeded in throwing him down and effecting their escape. A detachment of police have been engaged in pursuit ever since, and on Wednesday afternoon returned with Hicks, who was captured within two miles of the Tennessee line. Martin has not been heard from.
