A lady Robbed at Gordonsville. Culpeper, Sept. 24, 1861. Messrs, Editors: I deem it due to myself and to the public to make a few statements with regard to the manner in which I was treated in Gordonsville. I came from Alexandria to Gordonsville, and the city authorities thought it necessary to search my trunks, and knowing the necessity of exercising the greatest watchfulness for the welfare and safety of the Government, I made no objection, but submitted cheerfully and willingly to the inspection they wished to make. The inspectors consisted of three ladies and three or four gentlemen. The gentlemen never interrupted anything, but merely stood by while the ladies made the examination.--After the examination I left my things in charge of the ticket master, Mr. Freeman, as he told me that my things would be perfectly safe.
