ded. In the meantime the paper could go on file for ruling hereafter. A faro establishment, over the Globe Hotel, on Seventh street, was visited by the police the other night, and John Campbell arrested as proprietor, with R. Lansing and James Wilson as parties to the management. A hearing of the case was fixed for to-day, before Justice Thompson, but then postponed until to-morrow afternoon, at three o'clock, Campbell in the meantime giving $600 security and Wilson $100; Lansing, said toWilson $100; Lansing, said to be the dealer, did not appear. Checks given by J. C. Rives, Esq., of $10 each to each of the families of the men belonging to the First District of Columbia regiment of volunteers, were distributed in the regiment this morning; also $1 extra for each child. The payment of the money commences on 1st of November. This certainly is a most handsome and noble piece of generosity. Further arrests have taken place for trading without licenses by itinerants here. They are now mostly let off
