The candidates for Mayor of New York, are: Tammany, C. Godfrey Gunther; Republican, George Opdyke; Mozart, Fernando Wood; Union, Conrad Swackhemer; Reform, John Kerr. Christopher Hipp was recently arrested in Cincinnati, charged with being a spy from the South. Stocks in Baltimore and Philadelphia have had a sudden fall, as holders were fearful of complications with England. Coleman W. Stewart was killed in New Orleans a few days since in an altercation with a man named White. Major Richard Edward, an old and highly respected citizen of Natches, Miss., died at that place a few days ago. At New York, on the 22d inst., cotton was reported firm with sales of 2,500 bales.
