Attempted suicide. --Wm. Talley, a citizen of Hamilton county, while in a state of mental aberration, attempted to commit suicide, at the residence of Major Parham, in this city, on Sunday last. He is said to be a man of temperate habits, and that he sought his own destruction with much coolness and deliberation, having first written out his will, in which he appointed an executor and made a compel disposal of his wordily effects. He first tried to shoot himself with a shot-gun, which he found is his room, but losing the priming, and, is supposed, not knowing where to find more powder, he next attempted to shoot himself with another gun, which he found in an adjoining room. After exploding the cap, in attempting to fire the gun, he abandoned any further use of fire-arms, and attempted to out his throat with his pocketknife, in which he will high proceeded.
