Though his noble spirit took its flight when yet away from home and kindred, yet it is a consolation to us to know that he died amongst friends, where all that the hands of kindness could offer was freely rendered to alleviate his sufferings; and as a small token of our feeling of this sad occurrence, we unanimously concur in the following resolutions, viz: Resolved, That in the death of our beloved fellow soldier, Dr. Thos. Fred. Carter.
