Acts passed by Congress. Congress has passed, and the President approved, an act to require the receipt by the Postmasters of the Confederate States of Treasury notes in the sums of five dollars and upwards, in payment of postage stamps and stamped envelopes. It extends the provisions of the act of August 30th, so as to require postmasters to receive the Treasury notes of the Confederate States in payment of postage in sums equal to the denomination of said notes, and to receive the same on deposit for advance payment of such postage. Also, an act making appropriations to comply in part with treaty stipulations with certain Indian tribes.
