Murder of a Former citizen of Nashville.
The Memphis Appeal, of the 1st, says:
John Lee Porter, a native of Elizabethtown, Ky., and a brother of Mrs. J. H. Shepherd, of this city, was, with two other persons, assassinated by Mexicans at the Heintzelman silver mine, in Arizona, on the 23d of July last.
The assassins escaped into Mexico with the money and movable property at the mine.
Mr. Porter was a young man of fine character and promise, and his untimely death will be sincerely regretted by those who have known him in Kentucky, as well as at Nashville, where for several years he resided.
