Latest from Camp Alleghany. Lynchburg, Jan. 7. --The Republican, of this city, will publish a letter to-morrow, dated at Camp Alleghany, 5th inst., in which it is stated that some excitement prevailed there during the last four or five days, in consequence of a report that the Yankees, about 10,000 strong, from the direction of Camp Bartow, were expected to make an attack on Camp Alleghany. Colonels Gordon's and Scott's regiments were promptly ordered to Alleghany; but upon reconnaissance being made, the enemy were found to have gone in the direction of Huntersville, where there was a large quantity of our provisions, ammunition, &c. Gordon and Scott's regiments were then ordered back to Crab Bottom and Monterey, where they arrived on Saturday night. This excitement had hardly subsided, when a courier from Monterey reported that the enemy with 8,000 troops had gone to Huntersville and taken possession of our stores, and it was believed that they intended to come in our
From Missouri. Memphis, Jan. 7. --Jeff. Thompson will leave to-day for New Orleans. Gen. Price is reported to be at Springfield, Mo., with 10,000 men. Military movements are in operation which will doubtless soon clean out the Federals from Northern Missouri.

From the Southern Coast. Handsboro', (Below New Orleans,) Jan. 7.-- No additional vessels have been added to the Federal fleet in the Sound. They seem to be doing but little. The firing and consternation which resulted on the 3d inst., is reported to have been from one of the shots having seriously injured a French vessel off Ship Island.
From Wilmington. Wilmington. N. C., Jan. 7.--10 o'clock P. M.--There is no truth (as far as we can learn) in the report current to-day, that Burnside's expedition has been seen off Cape Hatteras. [Passengers who reached here last night state that such a report prevailed at Wilmington when they left there.]
