amento (Ky.) Fi--Deserters. The Bowling Green correspondent of the New Orleans Picayune, under date of January 3, says: Rev. Mr. McCormick, of Owensboro', a gentleman of high character, arrived here last night, and reports that he was at Rumsey to Saturday last at the time of the cavalry fight at Sacramento, when the enemy returned a discomfiture to that place, and says their loss was more than one hundred in killed and wounded, and that many deserted from after the engagement; ten of their wounded had died in Rumsey up to Sunday evening when he left there. Federal Villainy — a young lady killed is Cold blood. We make no comment upon such an act is the following, for language tails to supply the words in which it ought to be denounced. If there is not a special corner in the lower regions reserved for such villains, then there is no such thing as just retribution, either is this world or the next.
