They are highly important as indicative of the tendency of public sentiment among the Democratic masses of the North: Indianapolis, Jan. 8.--The so-called Democratic Convention organized to-day with Thomas A. Rendricks as President, and Bingham, of the Sentiael, as Secretary. It is a packed affair. The machinery is controlled by Breckinridge men, eleven of that Electoral ticket being delegates. The notorious John G. Davis made an ultra secesston speech. The resolutions are hypocritical, contradictory, and are not satisfactory to a majority of the party.
