The whiskey embargo. --We have received the proceedings of a largely attended meeting of the Free and Easy Society, hold a few nights ago at the Old Blotez Hall, to take into consideration the late stoppage of the sale of whiskey by the proclamation of martial law. Colonel Horn presided, and Mr. Rye acted as secretary. The following resolutions, reported by a committee, were unanimously adopted; Resolved, That in view of the proclamation of martial law, and the complete embargo upon the sale of whiskey, which has deprived as of our ancient luxury of getting drunk when we please, we fear the most pernicious consequences, and we do hereby denounce it as an oval, altogether intolerable, and grievous to be borne. Resolved, That a committee be appointed to wait upon the President, whose duty it shall be to represent to him that a vast number of loyal men are suffering the terrors of famine in consequence of his ill-considered proclamation, and to beseech him to modify it,
