Ordered twenty five lashed, and required to give security for his good behavior. --Lucy Smith, free negro, charged with keeping an ill-governed and disorderly house, was ordered twenty lashes, and committed in default of surety.--A number of fines were imposed on parties for violating the sanitary regulations.--Edward and Fleming, members of the colored fraternity, charged with stealing fruit from the garden of Roger Martin, were tried and acquitted.--Louisa Browning, arrested on the complaint of Pamela Page, for an assault and battery, was acquitted.--Mrs. Dougherty was brought up for "permitting her children to be assaulting, abusing, and insulting Mrs. Keenan," and after an examination, was triumphantly acquitted.--Ann and Mike O'Neal, who were charged with assaulting and beating Mrs. Keenan, were also acquitted.--Several other trifling cases were disposed of.
