Knipe; 10th Maine, Col. Beale, and 5th Connecticut, Col. Chapman, with a battery of the 4th U. S. artillery, under Lieut. Muhlenberg, Roomer's New York battery, and Knapp's Pennsylvania battery, was thrown to the right, with the exception of the artillery, for the purpose of making a movement upon the enemyieutenant-Colonel, Brown, and the Major, are both wounded, and there is not a Captain of a company left the regiment. The 10th Maine lost about one hundred and fifty in killed and wounded; the 5th Connecticut suffered similarly, besides losing Col. Chapman, who was taken prisoner.
