Attack on Yankees near Decatur, Ala. Mobile, Aug. 15. --A special despatch to the Advertiser and Register, dated Tupelo, 14th, says: Capt. Roddy reports officially that on the 7th inst., in command of three companies of Confederate scouts, he attacked the Yankee force near Decatur, chasing them into the town and capturing 123 privates and one officer, besides killing and wounding a considerable number. The Confederate loss was one killed and three wounded. He brought off fifty-six stand of arms. On the succeeding day he chased a scouting party of Yankees, burned the trestle work of the railroad, and cut the telegraph wires. The enemy are fortifying against cavalry at five positions between Tuscumbia and Decatur; but can be driven out by artillery. The Rosecrans is at Corinth.
